Boom.
(via mehreenkasana)
Gemma is made of poison, tea, and ocean. With a dash of the North
Kelly is made of honey, instrumental, and mistrusting. With a dash of Fanfiction.
Enya is made of ice, rice, and sunlight. With a dash of DANGER ZONE.
Erin is made of fire, pens, and starlight. With a dash of radiation.
These have been less than satisfactory lately so I tried a bunch:
sara is made of pepper, acid, and desperation. With a dash of Photoshop.
Sara is made of coffee, unicorns, and neon. With a dash of Wikipedia.
tawnyport is made of shows, cookies, and determination. With a dash of Apocalypse.
Tawnyport is made of tacos, Rap, and rivalry. With a dash of Holmes.
Can I cherry pick pepper, coffee, determination and Apocalypse? Probably not, huh :P
It is, however, 100% accurate for my cat: Simon is made of poison, family, and rainbows. With a dash of GAME OVER.
Since the last Boggle post, I’ve gotten a couple messages from girls saying that they’re just too petite to learn martial arts. I am not any kind of martial arts expert, but I can tell you that is NOT TRUE. There are whole schools of martial arts that revolve around using your opponent’s strength and size against them! One of the best is aikido, but it can take a long time to master. If you’re willing to be more aggressive, and you want to be able to actively defend yourself sooner rather than later, maybe try jiu jitsu!
If your school or neighborhood doesn’t offer aikido or jiu jitsu, call your local karate studio and ask if they teach the Okinawan style of karate, or even wing chun, which was developed by a small woman, for women. Kung fu and krav maga are also extremely effective forms of self-defense for petite women, although they are VERY aggressive.
Basically, look into your local options, because you have plenty. DON’T listen when you tell yourself that you “can’t” learn self-defense. It’s okay if you don’t want to; it’s okay if you don’t think that’s the right fit for you. But when you tell yourself you CAN’T, all you are doing is repeating the lies you’ve been told to make you feel small and helpless. You are NOT helpless. You CAN defend yourself. And ANYBODY who tells you differently, even you, is just trying to make you feel weak.
